in Guide

Tigoni is easiest to reach by car and, depending on where you are coming from in Nairobi, the journey typically takes 30 minutes to one hour.

Via Limuru Road

The most commonly used route to Tigoni is Limuru Road. This route is ideal if you are travelling from Karen, Lavington, Spring Valley, Westlands, and most parts of Nairobi located south of the Nairobi Expressway. It is well-marked and generally straightforward, making it a popular choice for first-time visitors.

Via Banana Hill

Running parallel to Limuru Road, the Banana Hill route offers a more scenic drive into Tigoni. It is best suited for travellers coming from Gigiri, Runda, and Rosslyn.

Please note that there are occasional traffic hotspots around Ruaka and Banana Market, especially during peak hours.

Via the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway

If you are travelling directly from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or from regions such as Naivasha, Nakuru, or the Maasai Mara, the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway provides the most convenient access.

From the highway, look out for exit points toward Limuru, which connect easily to Tigoni.

Taxis & Ride-Hailing Services

Tigoni is accessible by taxi, and ride-hailing services such as Uber and Bolt operate in the area. While it is usually easy to get a ride to Tigoni, finding a return ride can sometimes take longer, especially during off-peak hours. Visitors are advised to plan return transport in advance.
